India Office, October 17, 1910. I AM directed by the Secretary of State for India to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 10th October, on the subject of a letter addressed to the Foreign Office by Messrs. E. D. and D. Sassoon and Co. regarding the present position of the opium question in Kwantung, and I am to say that, subject to the observations on the general aspect of Messrs. Sassoon and Co.'s representations which were conveyed in my letter dated the 12th October, 1910, Lord Morley concurs in the terms of Sir E. Grey's proposed reply.
